AMCDX Video Patcher v0.4.0 released: Picture-In-Picture was never that easy before. Starting version 0.4.0 there is no “Identical resolution” restriction, in other words you can use source and target files with different resolutions and insert only selected rectangle you are interested in.

Features Added:
1) [File to File] Ability select rectangle of interest instead of inserting whole frame
2) [Metadata Editor] Now can open and edit MP4 files
3) [Metadata Editor] CLLI and MDCV atoms edit/add/remove

Bugs Fixed:
1) Fixed support of Interlaced MXF files
2) Fixed playback of MXF files with padded ProRes

The new version is released, most of the efforts were directed to make Patcher available on Linux

Features:
1) Patcher available on Linux starting v0.3.5
2) Allow to Insert into MXF files (op1a and Op-Atom)

Version 0.3.2 released.
Features:
1. Added Keyboard shortcuts:
1.1. Space – Play/Pause
1.2. Arrow Left – Go to previous frame (works only if paused)
1.3. Arrow Right – Go to next frame (works only if paused)
1.4. Shift+Arrow Left – Go 15 frames back(works only if paused)
1.5. Shift+Arrow Right – Go 15 frames forward (works only if paused)
1.6. I – Set In Point
1.7. O – Set Out Point
1.8. Shift+I – Go to In Point
1.9. Shift+O – Go to Out Point
1.10. Delete/Backspace – Clear In and Out points

AMCDX Video Patcher v0.2.5 Released

AMCDX Video Patcher v0.2.0 officially released.
There were several bugs fixed and added new tab “Edit Metadata” where you can in-place edit MOV metadata as well as ProRes frame metadata.

Metadata Editor Features:
1) ProRes frame metadata edit
2) MOV Timecode edit (edit timecode, edit drop flag)
3) MOV Colr Atom edit/remove/add
4) MOV Fiel Atom edit/remove/add
5) MOV Clap Atom edit/remove/add

Bugs fixed:
1) fixed Audio playback for tracks with more than 2 channels
2) reduced a bit CPU usage during playback
3) fixed support of MOV files with broken CLAP atom

Prores tools updates

I didn’t write last time as was quite busy and unfortunately didn’t work a lot on announced tools as still doing my main contract and literally have max 2 hours a day to do my project :(.

Nevertheless, as there was high interest I want to post some updates:

  1. I finally finished ProRes decoder which needed for a lot of reasons (playback, transcode as we need to stop decoding before doing IDCT, in-place edit as we need to decode just some of the slices, not whole frame)
  2. I finished MOV demuxer which based on the project I started here (https://github.com/da8eat/qtfile_pp) never committed updates though but at least you can see the main idea
  3. I made huge progress on MOV muxer (also based on GitHub project mentioned above)
  4. I finished basic UI (Qt/qml based)
    ProRes Tools UI

5. I implemented GLSL shaders for Video Renderer

Next couple of months I`m going to finish the Player and MOV muxer, and after that, finally, start features integration.

First one will be ProRes to ProRes transcode (for example transcode HQX to Proxy profile)

The second one will be in-place ProRes editing (I plan to detect faces on video and blur all detected faces in the input file without video re-encoding and file re-muxing)
